Missed you.

I wondered when it would come to this. You're sounding like my friend, The Mouthy Renegade Writer.

Being rather old it has occurred to me I can die to get out of it. Not that I want to mind you, but I've had a good, full life, very few regrets, and am more or less ready to go. Just a few more chances to make some other's lives maybe just a little more smile-worthy.

Missed your writing. Love the photo. Yes, they have killed the sense of beauty in the world, the shared experiences.

However, they are human and will die. Data centers will be destroyed or, better yet, will become obsolete in the next couple of years because tech has moved on. Just huge buildings filled with tech bricks.

You can't use all the water and bill taxpayers for corporate electricity use...people aren't having it.

Oligarchs are human, not enough security in the world to protect them. No bunker too deep to die in when its perfect system fails.

Teaching the wilfully ignorant, who cares? People make choices. Make sure there are consequences.

As for the evil ones designing all this...they have major enemies.

As for the normal folks Listen to music, draw, write, enjoy a good coffee and learn to shoot.

Thank you for this, Umair. Thank you for saying the quiet part out loud and speaking to the desperation so many of us feel. I have been in mourning for some time now for the life I thought I was going to live and the world in which I thought I would exist. But that world never came to be, and that life will never be lived. So I've been working on imagining a new life and a new world. I'm trying to hold on to hope, to joy and to love. There is still a place for these feelings. There is still a place for our humanity. But it has been a real challenge to figure out how that works and how it looks. My heart tells me I must persist in this search. It tells me I must find ways to love and to accept love in this desolate landscape. You and your writing have been a great companion to me. A whisper which gives me a sense of warmth. For that and for you, I am very grateful. Thank you.

Figured you were down with sun sickness... hope you are better from the physical pain, at least.

The only problem with fuck everyone else is that we are collateral damage.

I'm trying to dodge the worst of what is coming my way and will be doing what I can, when I can, to make my own life better. This means paying attention to the money because that's the only huge issue I have. Everything else is doable. So if your fund algorithm starts saying something important, it's important to me. Let us know. Don't give up on that lifeline for those of us who are financially marginal.

I still call the politicians to tell them to stop doing whatever they are doing at the moment, not because I know they will suddenly grow a spine, but to have a record. So I can say I told you so. It makes me feel better. Meanwhile, I'm going to have my own best possible life under the circumstances. When I can do more, I will.

At times like these I default to the greatest philosopher of our age:

"That is truer than true. There is no one that is you-er than you."

Dr. Seuss

Me? I got to get back to my fucking boulder. I'm going to get that fucker to the top of the fucking mountain if it fucking kills all of us.

I am worried by how much I relate to this.

Snowy (and dogs) are the purest and best things of this world. ❤️❤️❤️ holding on to that joy and sweetness.

I’m glad you’re back and I know why. It’s ok. Despite the grief I’m relieved to know you still care enough to write. Snowy is the best.

Remembering the better days causes my heart to ache a little more. My word choices, much like yours, Umair, have devolved into the ghetto language that was borne of human misery. It tells me something I don’t want to hear or feel, but expresses the pain exquisitely. Fuck it. Fuck them. Fuck the timeline and the wasteland they seem so intent on creating. My life now belongs to the whims of idiots. The creators and soldiers of severe misfortune. Jesus was wrong when he said, “They know not what they do.” When a king wields a sword he intends to kill, and his soldiers become disciples of predation. The story always ends the same way.

Some decades ago, a Cree man told me that people have to learn all their lives how to be human, and if they don't, they're only two-legged animals.

For a long time now, our cultures have not supported us in learning how to be human. It takes extraordinary circumstances for the education to take place, not the least of which is that someone needs to desire, strongly desire, to become human. Two-legged animals would rather root around in their own shit.

There are still many humans around; maybe I'm one of them (I'm older). And, as you say, I feel no responsibility to the two-legged animals any longer. Turning my attention to better things is a much more valuable use of my limited time.

I wish it was easier to identify other humans. I'd like to try building something good.

Nice little catharsis. Took you quite a while to realize, though.

That’s. Because. He’s. A. Good. Person.

Of course he is, that‘s why he and us hurt so much. Developing cynicism helps as a shield, and the only way this whole Circus ends is by its logical conclusion: it collapses by cannibalizing itself. „Welcome - to the desert of the real.“

Read every word

Agree with every word

I'm 72 and wasted a lot of time

No more

I'm done

Let them burn it all down

Let them take away jobs

Let them kill 200 million so Miller reaches his goal

Let them

No use in trying to hold back the tidal wave with a bucket.....

Love you Umair...stay safe ....

Thank you for this, Umair! Your words are exactly what I have been thinking for awhile now. The rage, the despair, the exhaustion of dealing with so much stupidity. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one, but at the same time I'm sorry that good people are suffering so much because of the actions of idiots.

The picture of Snowy brightened my day, and made me smile in spite of my irritation with idiots. 🌟💚
