I am reminded of The Never-ending Story. Have you seen it? The whole world is destroyed, all but a tiny speck of light, which is saved by a boy who will name something he loves.

"Alarmed by the cruel, wasteful and self-destructive human condition of the 20th and early 21st centuries, Mother Gaia moved to protect her children by changing the composition of her soil, water and atmosphere, making it impossible for human beings to eat, drink or even breathe without being dosed with love potions. People became noticeably friendlier right away, althouth none knew why.

"Within a few years, the entire human race loved one another unconditionally. They shared generously and spoke kindly. They set the animals free, and those that preferred to remain among humans were welcomed.

"People spent decades disassembling toxic infrastructure, neutralizing industrial waste, returning the air, water and land to pristine condition, and fostering the return of endangered species. They reversed climate change.

"Eventually, most humans wandered into the wilderness to establish villages and live in telepathic rapport with the plants, who willingly provided sustenance for the human community.

"Some settled in the historic art centers of the world, to study and care for the treasures humans had produced, so that all could enjoy them in perpetuity. Throughout the planet, joy and creativity flourished."

Have we all forgotten what it is to love?

The adults of these days leave the children to childcare, whilst the past generation at least had grandparents taking care of the young ~ small distinction, big repercussions.

Same zeitgeist as this post in musical form. Act III: "What about love for the sake of love?"

Brilliant. Accurate. Heartfelt. I like to think that they unknowingly are burning down, and in the darkness, a seed unfolds that we have not yet seen. And with that seed, we are able to build a bridge to a new and more beautiful world. (A girl can dream.) Love to you and Snowy.

Wow, it is nothing less than revolution. How to invest in 2026? Prey on the remains of our civilization or invest in love, kindness, family, community and vote for likemind candidates, if institutions still exist, that can implement that vision of humanity. That is so far from our current path, it is nothing less than a revolution. We're so much entranched in our beliefs that I cannot foresee such change before the final collapse of our civilization. Trump has it right, he'll obliterate that civilization, not the one he envision in the Middle East, but the XXIe century human civilization. MAGA is a race car with a madman in the driving seat, rushing the fastest to the wall while his followers are cheering in the stands.

In times of trouble, I have a profound need to immerse myself in nature. I go to a cabin deep in the woods of West Virginia, with books, art supplies, binoculars and my dogs. That feels real and meaningful.
