I am reminded of The Never-ending Story. Have you seen it? The whole world is destroyed, all but a tiny speck of light, which is saved by a boy who will name something he loves.

"Alarmed by the cruel, wasteful and self-destructive human condition of the 20th and early 21st centuries, Mother Gaia moved to protect her children by changing the composition of her soil, water and atmosphere, making it impossible for human beings to eat, drink or even breathe without being dosed with love potions. People became noticeably friendlier right away, althouth none knew why.

"Within a few years, the entire human race loved one another unconditionally. They shared generously and spoke kindly. They set the animals free, and those that preferred to remain among humans were welcomed.

"People spent decades disassembling toxic infrastructure, neutralizing industrial waste, returning the air, water and land to pristine condition, and fostering the return of endangered species. They reversed climate change.

"Eventually, most humans wandered into the wilderness to establish villages and live in telepathic rapport with the plants, who willingly provided sustenance for the human community.

"Some settled in the historic art centers of the world, to study and care for the treasures humans had produced, so that all could enjoy them in perpetuity. Throughout the planet, joy and creativity flourished."
