Something occurred to me as I was reading this: the Shock Market. It is where we are all going now.

Asset prices are so detached from economic reality (in a way not experienced since 1929). A shock is coming.

Autocrats are drunk on their power. Orban falls. Putin is next. Trump after that—not because of a democratic movement but because $6 per gallon of gas is a “bridge too far”.

An El Niño the likes of which humans have never seen is coming.

The Shock Market is coming.

I hope you are right.

The shocks won’t be any fun, and what comes after won’t look anything like “normal”. Normal is gone.

Yes. Every day reminds me of Goya’s Saturno devorando a su hijo.

I see a growing wish to draw down - especially in younger people. Unplug, go outside, make something with your hands, create art. Dumb phone makers cannot keep up. Regenerative agriculture is a thing. The brutalist core of society is no longer in the shadows. Why capitulate to it? Suffering has taught us how.

It's not a bit perplexing when you realize that we are being governed by rapists...

Thank you for saying so much of what I am feeling.

What if we brutally took half his power away? How big a he-man would he be if 23 states declared a national divorce? Trump keeps the Old South and we keep the financial and cultural centers. By doing so, in a positive way we could create something that's the opposite of brutal.
