At the same time, groups of people around the globe have been activated to step forward in this time of turning to serve as nodes of coherence within their communities. Help will come on a community level in the form of collaboration.

The rest of the world is recognizing this only now. Perhaps it is too late, but perhaps not. I think Europe and Canada in particular are making smart moves to reorient the world towards a more sustainable future. It will take years, perhaps decades, but eventually we will get there.

Our moronic Trumpian PM has been thrown out, the systems he assembled are being disassembled as we speak, his cronies will face justice soon, propaganda outlets are being shut down, our equivalent of fox news, breitbart, the daily mail is no more, because they can't survive outside the crony system that has been built by far-right populists to maintain them.
Similar signs of healing are visible in the rest of Europe. US tech dependency is being tackled, alternatives are being created, trade routes are being redirected, etc... I think we'll be fine. As for the US, it is up to them to choose their fate, but if they continue choosing fascist collapse, then Europe and Canada will benefit through the brain drain that's already happening, with smart people leaving the US in ever larger numbers.

Where on the West Coast are you? I ask because I live pretty much the center of Silicon Valley and these people here these days have their heads so far up their asses I can't believe it. They basically hide in their overpriced houses with multiple Teslas parked out front. When they do venture out, they strive to never acknowledge any one else's existence, only making an exception if they need to assert their entitlement. All the real work is done by Hispanics, who are required to live far, far away and endure horrible commutes.
Whereas Portland, where I spend some time, is much better. People there still seem to be living a real life and are generally friendly.
